Pemberville Outdoor Refreshment Area (PORA)

What is PORA?

The Pemberville Outdoor Refreshment Area (PORA) is a designated area in downtown Pemberville where alcoholic beverages purchased from participating establishments may be enjoyed outdoors in an approved PORA cup.

PORA is Pemberville's local name for its Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) authorized by the State of Ohio.

Participating Establishments

PORA beverages may currently be purchased from:

  • Front Street Café
  • Casa Rio

PORA Hours

Daily: Noon – 10:00 p.m.

Last sales of PORA beverages must occur no later than 9:30 p.m., and all PORA beverages and cups must be disposed of by 10:00 p.m.

PORA Rules

  • Alcoholic beverages must be purchased in an approved PORA cup from a participating establishment.
  • PORA cups are single-use only and may not be refilled.
  • PORA beverages may not be taken into another liquor-permitted establishment, including participating restaurants.
  • PORA beverages may be taken into businesses displaying an official PORA decal.
  • PORA beverages must remain within the designated PORA boundaries.
  • Cups must be disposed of in an appropriate receptacle before entering another liquor-permitted establishment or leaving the PORA.
  • All other applicable state and local laws regarding alcohol consumption remain in effect.

Know the PORA Boundaries

PORA beverages must remain within the designated area. Look for PORA boundary signs throughout downtown to know when you are entering or leaving the PORA.

All PORA beverages and cups must be disposed of before leaving the designated area.

Look for the PORA Logo

Businesses displaying an official PORA decal welcome visitors carrying PORA beverages inside.

Please remember that PORA beverages cannot be taken into another liquor-permitted establishment, even if it is located within the PORA.
